Agave Maria’s is the newly renovated Mexican Restaurant that was established in the early 60’s in downtown Ojai, California. The Trudeau’s, new owners as of 2010, have created the premier patio location with the look and feeling of vacationing at your favorite exotic Baja resort.

Authentic Mexican flavors abound on the menu, featuring generous portions of fresh ingredients in your Tacos, Burritos and Enchiladas. Only Organic Beans and Rice are used, no lards or butters, and farm fresh produce whenever possible. Specialty items include delicious Ceviche, Fiesta Shrimp Salad and handmade Chili Rellanos. Our Niman Ranch Steak and Chicken Campestre entrees give the non-carb eater a delicious alternative choice. Chef David Delgadillo brings his 20 years of experience to the menu items, while the bar pours Pixie Tangerine Margaritas by the pitchers. Patrons of all ages enjoy the sunshine under the yellow umbrellas of the picturesque town residents call home.

The Trudeau family, 20 year residents were motivated to bring back a piece of history by restoring the old house turned restaurant known as Antonio’s for over 30 years. The new owners took on the challenge of renovating the restaurant, left sadly in need of repair throughout the 90’s. Motivated by the town stories of rock stars, cowboys, hippies and large family gatherings which took place for years – where legend had it that Antonio with his handlebar mustache and large personality would pass by with a shooter of tequila for the adults and a kiss on the cheek for the newest member of the family.

Reborn as Agave Maria’s in 2010 – The Trudeau’s daughter, Tracy Jeffares, took on the challenge as General Manager of the new establishment and created a new focal point for the community to eat, drink and be entertained. Families are back with a whole new generation and the tequila is flowing again with over 40 different types to choose from. Come sit by the fire at night or in the noon day sun, and join us for Jazz on Sundays, Salsa on Wednesdays and a good time everyday. See you there.
